Women’s Employment Status Key Indicators (WESKI)

A comprehensive report on women’s position in the Australian workforce, Women’s Employment Status Key Indicators, was released by the three commissioning organisations, the National Foundation of Australian Women (NFAW), the Women’s Electoral Lobby (WEL), and the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission.

The WESKI report makes a number of recommendations to improve the capacity of government and non-government organisations to monitor women’s employment entitlements under the new regulations.

Media release 10 September 2006

Background information

The consortium of over 60 national women’s organisations represented in the What Women Want Project has made a submission to the Australian Fair Pay Commission, based in part on earlier drafts of the WESKI report. That submission is available on www.nfaw.org, www.security4women.com, and on the Australian Fair Pay Commission web site.
